One Injured in Leopard Attack at Lakhowjan Tea Estate, Bokakhat.

Aiidesh News : 22 April - 2026 :

A tea worker was injured today in a leopard attack at Lakhowjan Tea Estate in Bokakhat co-district. According to reports, while working with fellow workers in Section No. 5 of the Tea Estate, a leopard suddenly attacked Amar Sahis, a permanent worker, from behind.  

Hearing the cries and commotion, other workers rushed to the spot, forcing the leopard to flee. However, Amar Sahis sustained injuries in the attack. The leopard clawed his back, left arm and thigh.

He was immediately taken to the estate hospital and later shifted to Bokakhat’s Swahid Kamala Miri Civil Hospital. After receiving primary treatment there, he was referred to Jorhat Medical College and Hospital for further care.
